City appoints new clerk/treasurer

Monticello has a new city clerk/treasurer. She is Kathryn “Kathy” Radford, formerly with the Florida Chamber of Commerce in Tallahassee.
The Monticello City Council appointed Radford by a 3-2 vote at a special meeting on Thursday evening, June 20. The other applicant for the position was Dr. Vivian Hall Royster, who last November narrowly lost the office to James Griffin, the city clerk who recently resigned the position.
Voting for Radford’s appointment were Mayor Gloria Cox, Councilwoman Katrina Richardson and Councilman Brian Bachman. Voting against were Councilmen John Jones and George Evans, whose stated reason for their nay votes was that
