City Attorney’s contract renewed

The Monticello City Council recently renewed the contract of City Attorney Mitchell Herring, who was hired last September to provide legal representation following the death of the former city attorney. As Herring informed the council members on Tuesday evening, Oct. 1, the renewed contract is an exact representation of the former one, meaning that the terms, conditions and costs would remain the same. “It’s a straight up renewal,” Herring said.
