City, county officials pleased with hurricane response

City and county officials alike last week took time to recognize the men, women, and children who, from either a sense of duty or empathy, stepped forward in the aftermath of Hurricane Idalia to help the less fortunate in the community. Both the Monticello City Council and Jefferson County Commission took a few minutes at their respective meetings on Tuesday, Sept. 5, and Thursday, Sept. 7, to acknowledge the efforts of the many who helped the community we
