
City gets emergency radio communications system

After much consideration, the Monticello City Council recently agreed to allow the placement of small transmitting devices atop the city’s water tanks for the creation of a low-cost emergency communication system in the eventuality of a major disaster.
The council voted unanimously on Tuesday, April 1, to enter an agreement with the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) for it to build a meshtastic radio system atop the city’s water tanks.
