City Hall Building to get windows restored

The Monticello City Council recently approved an expenditure upwards of $50,000 to replace the upstairs windows on the historic city hall building.
City planner Kurt Mackiewicz presented the figures to the council on Tuesday, Nov. 4, based on price quotes he received from Austin Historical, an Orlando-based company that specializes in the restoration and replication of historic windows.
Mackiewicz told the council that the estimate for doing all 14 upstairs windows to historical standards was $50,727. The other choice, he said, was to do the six most critical windows, including three that were hurricane damaged and currently boarded. The latter price
