City juggling $7M worth of capital improvement projects

The City of Monticello has a number of capital improvement projects that are either underway, nearing completion, or about to be launched, according to a list that City Manager Seth Lawless recently provided the council.
“We’ve got a lot going on,” Lawless remarked to the council on Tuesday evening, Feb. 7, noting that together the projects exceeded $7 million.
The first he mentioned was the Railroad Street waterline replacement project, already underway at a projected cost of $690,000. This money, he said, had come from legislative appropriations of $75,000, $250,000 and $400,000 over a three-year period.
