According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO), on Monday, July 20, deputies arrested Kurt Mackiewicz on a warrant related to his initial arrest on May 19. He appeared in court on Tuesday, July 21 and is being held on a $30,000 bond.
The new charges include 1,666 counts of possession or promotion of certain images of child pornography, 749 counts of buying, selling, exchanging or disseminating child pornography and 14 counts of possession of computer-depicted child pornography.
According to JCSO, “This arrest was made in coordination with the Big Bend Protecting Innocence Task Force, a multi-agency collaboration that includes Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the Leon County Sheriff’s Office, Tallahassee Police Department, Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office and Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.”
The investigation remains ongoing.
