City narrows search for manager to five candidates

The Monticello City Council last week narrowed its search for a new city manager to five candidates, following a workshop on Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 21.
Guided by consultant Mark Ryan, a retired city manager and adviser for the Florida City/County Management Association (FCCMA), the council members spent about two hours in the process, culling the field of 22 applicants down to the five selected.
The five selectees, on whom the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting background checks in the coming days, are listed as Caleb Patterson, David Schoeff, Kurt Mackiewicz, Carl Brown and Michael Brillhart.
