City officials readying legislative priorities for next session

The Florida Legislature ended its 2023 legislative session in May, and already, Monticello officials are preparing their wish list for the 2024 session, which is set to begin in early January.
At the council’s Sept. 5 meeting, City Manager Seth Lawless asked the council members to begin identifying the projects that they wanted pursued in the coming session.
He didn’t want, Lawless said, to see a repeat of the last-minute scramble to identify projects that had occurred in the last legislative session.
