City planners forge ahead with plans to update code

When the Monticello Local Planning Agency (LPA) meets again on Thursday, May 9, it plans to delve deeper into ways to update and strengthen the city’s land-use development regulations.
Led by Chairwoman Tami Lester, a reinvigorated LPA – consisting of members Bob Canter, Todd McGee and Michelle Arceneaux – is forging ahead with plans to formulate a dispersal ordinance and create transitional zones between business and residential districts, among othe goals.
These, at least, were some of the topics discussed at the LPA’s last meeting on April 11, with specific areas assigned to members to investigate and return to the group with presentations
