City seeking nearly $5M for infrastructure improvements

At the behest of Interim City Manager Steve Wingate, and in conjunction with Kimley-Horn Engineering, the City of Monticello is going after nearly $5 million in grant funding for infrastructure improvements.
The funding is being sought from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) through the legislative process.
Wingate informed the Monticello City Council of the plan on Tuesday evening, Jan. 8, saying that Felicity Appel, of Kimley-Horn, would be helping with the effort. He listed the amounts being sought and the intended projects as follow:
