Clothed With Joy held a “Free Shoe Day” on Saturday, Feb. 22 at its facility located in the Adult Education building at the old Jefferson County High School.
On that Saturday morning, families came together to pick and choose from hundreds of new and gently used shoes for school, church and play. A total of 75 pairs of shoes were given away at no cost to any of the attending families.
Clothed With Joy is a clothing warehouse made up of a group of volunteers. It is available to local financial-constrained students and their parents. Locals can "shop" for clothing and shoes at no cost to the families.
A few families were invited to come into the warehouse and shop for school outfits and undergarments. Appointments were made for other families to come in during the week to shop. This is all offered at no charge.
For questions or to make appointments for clothes shopping, call (850) 997-4525, leave a message and a volunteer will call you back. School-aged children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
