Collins Firm will continue to represent Reams

A circuit court judge in Leon County ruled last week that the Collins Law Firm can continue to represent Kirk Reams, Jefferson County’s former clerk of court charged with organized scheme to defraud and grand theft.
Judge Stephen Everett determined in the same ruling that the state attorney can question the Collins Firm’s two attorneys, David Collins and son, Chuck, as fact witnesses in the case, even though they represent Reams.
Fact witnesses are those who have personal knowledge about incidents or persons in a case and testify solely on the facts, as opposed to expert witnesses, who may offer opinions.
