The Jefferson County Commission held the third of a series of budget workshops on Thursday morning, May 2, the session’s focus on the extension services office, county manager, planning and county building administration, plus three informational budgets on the board itself, medical services and veterans affairs. The first department head to report was John Lilly, director of the Jefferson County Extension Office and 4H youth program. In terms of the 4H program, Lilly said it was going well. The program, he said, was accepting applications for its day camps, which would be held at the 80-acre facility off U.S. 90 West. The camps, he said, would inc
