On Saturday, March 18, the Jefferson County R.J. Bailar Public Library will be hosting a Community Agro-Fair Day, in honor of the launch of their Spring Seed Library and their Community Garden. This fun-filled event is open to the public, and all are welcome to come out and enjoy a free lunch, hands-on gardening activities, free seeds and access to a wealth of information about gardening techniques, food preservation, healthy fresh eating and more.
There will be knowledgable staff from both the UF/IFAS Jefferson County Extension Office and the Jefferson County Department of Health present at the event, who will be more than happy to answer questions and give advice to those wanting to learn more about growing, eating and storing their own produce from their home gardens.
This community event will begin at 10 a.m. and will last until 1 p.m. at the library, which is located at 375 S. Water St. in Monticello. For more information, contact the Extension Office Agriculture and Natural Resources agent, De'Anthony Price at (850) 342-0187 or by email at deanthonyprice@ufl.edu. Additionally, questions can be directed to the library, at (850) 342-0205.
