
Comprehensive plan still a work in progress (Planners review revised document on Thursday)

County commissioners recently gave preliminary approval to the latest revised version of the county’s comprehensive plan, a document that requires updating every seven years and that is long past the deadline for its submission to the state.
The latest revisions, executed by the county attorney at the board’s request, came after the officials expressed dissatisfaction with the changes proposed by a planning consultant that the county hired for about $73,000 to revise the plan and bring it into compliance with the latest state laws. The local plan was last revised in 2012.
