County adopts final budget amendment

As required by state law, the Jefferson County Commission last week conducted a brief meeting to adopt a resolution validating the county manager’s final budget amendment for fiscal year 2022-23, which ended Sept. 30.
The resolution, which the board adopted on Wednesday evening, Nov. 15, followed a summary review by Budget Officer Gus Rojas, showing a balanced total budget of $37,288,762, with revenues and expenditures canceling out each other.
Among the revenues identified were $5,929,656 in property taxes, $3,424,229 in sales and use taxes, $6,472,725 in grant awards, $327,290 in licenses and permits fees, and $427,438 in fines and forfeitures.
