County at last gets solar farm ordinance

County officials last week finally adopted the long-debated and much revised solar photovoltaic collector systems ordinance, but just barely, and only after a last-minute compromise that saw a further loosening of the stormwater regulations.
Following much discussion and rehashing of the issue by both officials and citizens alike, the board deadlocked 2-2 on a motion to approve the ordinance as proposed. It was only after further discussion, and a last-minute compromise that lowered the percentage of the imperviousness of solar panels from 25 to 15 percent, that the measure was finally approved 4-0.
