County begins implementing cybersecurity measures

County officials recently adopted a resolution that set minimum foundational standards to safeguard against cybersecurity threats and better protect county data, information technology, and information technology resources, so as to ensure their availability, confidentiality and integrity.
The Jefferson County Commission adopted the resolution on Thursday, Dec. 19, in keeping with a state mandate requiring that counties with populations of less than 75,000 people had to adopt the cybersecurity standards by Jan. 1, 2025.
