County contributes $30,000 to 250th Celebration

Jefferson County has now formally ponied up a portion of the expenses for the activities that are planned locally to celebrate the 250th birthday of the United States. An agreement approved by the Jefferson County Board of County Commissioners on Thursday evening, April 16, allows for a $30,000 contribution to the Monticello-Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce for use in the celebratory activities.
