County funds wildlife center improvements

The North Florida Wildlife Center (NFWC) will receive a small portion of the funds that the county collects annually from its tourist development tax thanks to a grant agreement that the Jefferson County Commission approved recently.
Per the agreement, which the board approved on Thursday evening, March 21, the NFWC will receive a $8,300 grant for construction of wheelchair ramp compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to make the attraction’s gift shop and restrooms accessible to all visitors.
The tourist development tax is a three-percent tax that visitors pay for every short-term rental of a hotel, motel, bed-and-breakfast inn,
