County gets $2.5M from state for road projects

In keeping with the requirements of the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for the receipt of funds to improve local roads, county officials recently approved two resolutions that together assured the county’s receipt of a combined $2,512,794 in state funding for road work.
The two resolutions, approved by the Jefferson County Commission in July, amounted to $1,511,848 for the design, permitting, construction and other services required to widen and resurface approximately 2.4 miles of CR-146 (Ashville Highway), from St. Margaret Church Road to Bassett Dairy Road; and $1,000,946 to upgrade approximately 1.63 miles of Government Farm Road, fr
