County gets $3.5M from state for repair of private dirt roads

Jefferson County residents who live off private dirt roads that have a history of storm flooding may soon be getting some relief.
On Thursday, June 6, the Jefferson County Commission entered an agreement with the Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM) to receive $3,225,000 in Hurricane Idalia Repair and Recovery
Program funding for the repair of up to a total of 12.8 miles of private dirt roads.
The dirt roads to be repaired and have cross drains replaced are listed in two sections of the contract. Listed in the first section and comprising 5.4 miles are Kameron Road, 0.2-mile, one cross drain; Oakland Plantation Road, 1.7 miles, two cross d
