County has a new planning director

Lazaro Aleman ECB Publishing, Inc. Jefferson County has had a new planning department director since Monday, Sept. 16. He is David Wheeler, formerly with the Madison County Property Appraiser’s Office. The Jefferson County Commission confirmed Wheeler’s appointment as planning department director on Thursday evening, Sept. 12, acting on the recommendation of County Manager Shannon Metty. Wheeler served in the Madison County Property Appraiser office from 2007 until recently, working there as a mapper, field appraiser and agricultural lands appraiser. Among his duties with the property appraiser’s office were collecting documents from the public record relating to the transfer of
