County Manager Shannon Metty tendered her resignation to the Jefferson County Commission on Thursday evening, Feb. 5, effective June 12 in order to allow time for an orderly transition of the operation.
In tendering her resignation, Metty stated that she was doing so in order to “ensure that recent public distractions do not detract from the important work being performed by county staff.”
The board accepted the resignation immediately and unanimously.
The board’s action included approval of a severance agreement package that entitles Metty to payment for all her unused and accumulated personal leave existing as of the resignation date, among other stipulations.
The full story will appear in the Wednesday, Feb. 11, print version of the Monticello News and sooner in the online version.
