
County officials decide to go after defendants’ assets for restitution

County officials recently took steps to ensure that the county recovers as much as possible of the money that it lost due to the actions of a former clerk of court and two of his top employees, all three of whom were convicted and sentenced to various lengths of incarceration.
Kirk Reams, former clerk of court, Warren “Charles” Culp, director of finance, and Justin “Tyler” McNeill, former human resources director, were each charged with one count of grand theft and one count of organized scheme to defraud.
Culp entered a plea of no contest to the charges, was adjudicated guilty, and sentenced to 24 months of incarceration. McNeill entere
