County plans to charge fees for parks and recreational facilities

County officials are preparing to amend and adopt a new parks and recreation fee schedule in response to some citizens’ concerns about the types of unregulated activities that sometimes occur in designated recreational areas.
The Jefferson County Commission, on Thursday morning, Aug. 1, authorized the staff to advertise a public hearing in the coming weeks to consider a resolution to adopt new fees for certain activities within parks and recreational areas.
