County readies to pave three more roads with bond money

County officials recently gave authorization for the resurfacing of three more roads, part of a continuing roadway improvement project that is being funded by the bond money.
The Jefferson County Commission’s authorization, issued on Thursday, Dec. 21, was for the repaving of Old Drifton Road, from U.S. 19 to the Aucilla Highway; Steel Road, from Watermill Road to the railroad tracks; and Sledge Road, from Lake Road to the end of the lime-rock section.
The total estimated cost for the three roads is $164,068. This breaks down to $80,471 for Old Drifton Road, $27,640 for Steel Road, and $55,957 for Sledge Road.
