County reimposes several special assessments

In rapid succession, the Jefferson County Commission recently adopted four resolutions, two of which reimposed special assessments on most residents, and two of which reimposed special assessments on specific private subdivisions.
The first resolution that the commission approved on Thursday evening, Sept. 12, involved a service assessment on Aucilla Shores for upkeep of the subdivision’s dirt roads, in accordance with a 2022 agreement executed between county officials and the affected property owners.
