County renews contract for legal services

Lazaro Aleman ECB Publishing, Inc.  The Jefferson County Commission recently renewed its contract with Nabors, Giblin & Nickerson (NGN) for the legal services of a county attorney, which agreement was set to expire on June 30. The renewal extends the relationship for at least another year. The contract makes no changes to the compensation structure, but it changes the personnel. Heather Encinosa, who has been county attorney since the start of the agreement in July 2022, will be stepping back from the role.
