County to seek temporary easement from property owners on dirt roads

Residents who live along private dirt roads that have been designated for repair with the recently received state funding will soon be asked to sign a temporary construction easement agreement granting the county legal access to the roads for improvement purposes.
The Jefferson County Commission approved the agreement form on Thursday evening, June 20, at the same time that it gave staff permission to begin negotiating the leases with the property owners.
The agreements are tied to the $3,225,000 that the county received from the Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM) in Hurricane Idalia Repair and Recovery Program funding for the repair of u
