County’s next budget expected to top $48 million

The Jefferson County Commission in its last budget workshop dealt with four of the five constitutional offices, the overall theme of which was increased funding requests.
The budget workshop on Thursday morning, June 6, dealt specifically with the requests of the Sheriff, Clerk of Court, Elections Supervisor and Property Appraiser.
Sheriff Mac McNeill told the board that his budget reflected a $579,915 increase over the current year, most of it going to information technology, software and associated costs.
