Countywide parking regulations hearing is today

A proposed ordinance to regulate parking, which was set for a hearing on Thursday, Oct. 17, was rescheduled at the last moment without explanation. The hearing is now set for 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6.
The measure stems from concerns about parking issues at the Wacissa River Park. The proposed rules were first brought to the Jefferson County Commission’s attention in mid-July, the intent being to establish countywide parking regulations and set penalties for violations.
