Court hears arguments on state’s motion to disqualify Collins Law Firm

After two days of arguments and testimony in Leon County on the state’s renewed motion to disqualify the Collins Law Firm from representing former Jefferson County Clerk of Court Kirk Reams on criminal charges, the judge last week took the issue under advisement, with a ruling expected soon.
In order to assist his decision-making, Circuit Court Judge Stephen Everett on Friday, March 1, ordered the court reporter to transcribe within 15 days for his review the transcripts of the hearings on Dec. 15 (on the state’s original motion to disqualify, which was denied), and on Feb. 28 and March 1 (the renewed motion to disqualify).
