Court rules in favor of Collins Law Firm defending Reams

In a five-page order issued on Wednesday, April 10, Circuit Court Judge Stephen Everett denied the state’s renewed motion to disqualify the father-and-son team of David and Charles “Chuck” Collins from representing Reams, who is charged with grand theft and organized scheme to defraud. The judge found that although there existed a strong suggestion that the Collinses’ representation of Reams in the forensic audit and the criminal investigation were “substantially related,” the state had failed to meet it
