Court rules in favor of county in solar farm lawsuit

The long pending court case involving a solar company’s lawsuit against the county for the latter’s denial of a special exception and major development permit for construction of a large-scale solar farm near Drifton has finally reached a resolution
On Wednesday, Feb. 28, Circuit Court Judge Dawn Caloca-Johnson issued an eight-page order denying Ecoplexus’ petition for a writ of certiorari, which the Delaware-based company had filed with the court on Feb. 7, 2022.
“The court finds the petitioner is not entitled to relief,” Caloca-Johnson wrote in brief.
