Crash takes teen's life - ECB Publishing, Inc.

Laura Young ECB Publishing, Inc. An 18-year-old Tampa youth died in a single-car crash in Jefferson County at 1:20 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 13. According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) report, the young man was the sole occupant of a vehicle traveling southbound on U.S. 27. Near the highway's intersection with Cherry Tree Road, the vehicle left the roadway, crossed the grassy shoulder and struck several trees. When the front of the vehicle made impact with a large tree, it rotated into the wooded area, overturned and came to rest. The driver was ejected from the vehicle into the wooded area. He was pronounced deceased on the scene, and his next of kin has been notified. FHP was assist
