Corey Smith – September 11
Corey Franklin Smith, 43, of Maxville, Fla., was arrested on Wednesday, Sept. 11 by Jefferson County Sheriff's Deputy Harrison on the authority of a warrant that called for Smith's arrest.
The warrant, which was sealed by Judge Caloca-Johnson on Tuesday, Aug. 20 of this year, was issued after Smith violated the terms of his court-ordered probation throughout 2019.
According to Smith's arrest warrant, Smith had been placed on probation in April of 2019 after facing the charge of felony battery.
However in July of 2019, Smith violated the terms of his probation by possession, carrying or owning a firearm; by violating the law and being arrested for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon; and by knowingly associating with a person who was engaged in criminal activities.
All three violations took place in Jacksonville, Fla., with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office arresting Smith for the firearm charges.
At 11:25 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 11, Corey Smith w as taken into custody by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office (JCSO) and booked into the Jefferson County Jail, where no bond would be offered for his release.
Dina Vadney – September 12
Dina Denise Vadney, 49, of Monticello, was arrested on Thursday, Sept. 12 by JCSO deputies after Vadney violated the terms of her probation and a warrant was issued for her arrest.
The warrant, which was released by the Florida Department of Corrections, states that Vadney had been placed on probation in 2018 after committing two counts of possession of a controlled substance.
However, Vadney ended up violating the terms of her probation when she changed her residence without first procuring the consent of her probation officer and then when she failed to remain confined to her approved residence as stipulated in her ordered probation. Vadney also violated her court-ordered probation when Vadneyfailed to live above the law and was arrested in late 2018 for the charge of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of methamphetamine.
On Oct. 30, 2018, Circuit Court Judge Caloca-Johnson sealed a warrant that called for Vadney's arrest as a result of the thrice-violated probation.
It wouldn't be until Thursday, Sept. 12 of this year, when Jefferson County Sheriff's Deputy Freeman would pull Vadney over during a traffic stop, that Vadney would be taken into custody on behalf of her 2018 warrant.
