Henry Sharpe – July 7
Henry Andre Sharpe, 48, of Monticello, was arrested on Tuesday, July 7 by Deputy Thomas with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office (JCSO).
According to Sharpe's arrest report, his arrest was on behalf of an outstanding warrant that had been issued earlier by the JCSO.
On Saturday, June 6, Jefferson County Sheriff's Deputy McCoy attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a silver Ford sedan. The vehicle had been observed traveling at an unlawful speed (115 mph) and had a broken tail light.
Despite the fact that the deputies were traveling behind the vehicle with the sirens and lights on, the vehicle did not pull over to the side of the road.
Instead, the vehicle continued to drive north on North Jefferson Highway, all the while failing to maintain a single lane of travel, as the vehicle was swerving from one lane into another.
The deputies continued to pursue the speeding sedan as it traveled northward, entering into Thomas County, Ga.; The vehicle did not slow down and deputies from the Thomas County Sheriff's Office provided additional assistance.
Eventually, the vehicle came to a stop, but when deputies approached, the vehicle immediately conducted a U-turn, traveling back southbound on North Jefferson Highway. Deputy McCoy resumed following the vehicle while keeping Jefferson County Sheriff's Deputy Johnson apprised of the vehicle's location.
As the vehicle traveled southbound, Deputy Johnson brought his vehicle into the roadway, causing the sedan's driver to slow down and then come to a complete stop in the roadway, still in Thomas County, Ga.
After being made to stop, the vehicle's driver (later identified as Henry Sharpe) exited his vehicle and laid down on the ground. The two Jefferson County deputies maintained custody of Sharpe until the Thomas County deputies arrived at the scene. Sharpe was taken into custody, where he agreed to submit to a breath test which determined his blood-alcohol concentration was a .127.
Sharpe was then arrested by Thomas County deputies for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated by alcohol and issued a traffic citation for unlawful speeding, reckless driving, fleeing and attempting to elude and failure to maintain a single lane of travel.
After Sharpe's June arrest in Georgia, he later returned to Jefferson County, where he was arrested on July 7, on behalf of the Jefferson County warrant that had been issued after the June event. The warrant called for Sharpe's arrest due to the charges of reckless driving while fleeing law enforcement officers with lights and sirens activated as well as fleeing and attempting to elude.
Sharpe was booked into the Jefferson County Jail with a $5,500 bond.
Justin Mabry – July 8
Justin Scott Mabry, 34, of Monticello, was arrested on Wednesday, July 8 on an outstanding warrant from the Department of Corrections.
According to Mabry's warrant, he had previously been sentenced to probation in 2017 after committing the crime of elder abuse. Part of Mabry's probational sentencing required him to remain in his county of residence and to live without violating any laws.
However, on May 18 of this year, Mabry violated the terms of his probation when he chose to leave his county of residence, visiting Thomas County, Ga., without the permission of his probation officer. While in Georgia, Mabry was arrested by a trooper with the Georgia State Patrol after committing a criminal offense.
Mabry further violated his probation by failing to make a truthful report to his probation officer. After his arrest, Mabry falsely stated to the officer supervising his probational period that he had not been in contact with any law enforcement officers.
On Wednesday, July 8, Mabry was arrested by Cpl. Adamczyk, with the JCSO, after which he was taken to the Jefferson County Jail, where no bond was offered for his release.
Dylan Cartwright – July 10
Dylan Cartwright, 25, of Florida, was arrested on Friday, July 10 by troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) on charges related to possession of marijuana.
On July 10, at around 9:45 a.m., Trooper Harrell was called to assist local Jefferson County law enforcement with a crash that had taken place near the I-10 off-ramp at US 19 (South Jefferson Highway).
When Trooper Harrell arrived at the scene, he made contact with an eye witness and conducted an investigation to the crash. During Trooper Harrell's investigation, he found several items of drug paraphernalia in plain view, inside the Ford vehicle that had been involved in the crash.
Inside the vehicle troopers found Xanax pills (not in a prescription bottle), marijuana wax, a glass pipe and a butane lighter. There were also credit cards with someone else's name (not the vehicle driver's name).
As the vehicle's driver, later identified as Dylan Cartwright, had been transported to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital (TMH), Trooper Harrell traveled to the hospital to make contact with Cartwright.
While at TMH, Trooper Harrell learned that Cartwright had been stopped earlier that morning in Lake County, Fla. for speed and possession of drugs.
After Cartwright had been medically cleared by the TMH staff, Trooper Harrell placed Cartwright under arrest for possession of a controlled substance with a prescription, six counts of possession of marijuana wax, possession of credit cards that did not belong to him, possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Cartwright was transported to the Jefferson County Jail, where he was booked.
