Cyclist killed on Wacissa Springs Rd.

On Friday, September 22, just before 7 p.m., Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) responded to a traffic collision on Wacissa Springs Rd., in Jefferson County. A pickup truck traveling south-bound struck a bicyclist on the roadway. The cyclist, a 25-year-old male from Tallahassee, whose name has not yet been officially released, was flown to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
According to the press release provided by FHP, the vehicle left the scene and was located a short time later with the bike still impaled into the front of the truck's grill. The driver of the truck, a 60-year-old male from Tallahassee, was transported to TMH
