****Danielle Sprague, with the UF/IFAS Jefferson County Extension, reminds the community about the Small Ruminant Series being offered to community residents. The sessions held to date focused on General Care and Management, Animal Husbandry, Hooves to Teeth, Herd Health, Vaccinations, Parasite Control, and Antibiotics. The next session will be held on June 14 and will focus on Sanitation and Nutrition including: Nutritional Demands, Supplements and Pasture Management. On June 28 the session will be about Reproduction: Anatomy, Labor and Delivery and Breeding Management Decisions. July 12 will conclude the series. Breed Selection and Marketing will cover Product Options and Marketing Your Product. There is a $10 per person registration fee for each session and advanced registration is strongly encouraged. ****Florida Museum of Natural History visitors can take a surreal look at animals of the past in the new “Wondrous Creatures: Where Science and Art Intersect” exhibit now on display. This free gallery exhibition showcases five ceramic sculptures of prehistoric animals among 18th century furniture such as a bathtub, clock and bed. The exhibit also includes images detailing the sculpting process and symbolism of the art, as well as additional information on the creatures like pictures of fossils and artist renderings.For more information on her work, visit arielbowman.com.
