best of our Patients First culture and our people. Nominated by his peers, leadership and the physicians he supports, Deldrick consistently shows unwavering support to our patients and is recognized for his clinical expertise, dedication and mentoring. Deldrick embodies the best of our organization in attitude, values, work ethic, discipline and intellect."
Following the presentation of the award in April, Brown says that Minogue asked him to name a charity he wished to support. He chose the 100 Black Men of Tallahassee to receive a $5,000 gift.
In an April 15 email regarding the donation, Brown said, “This organization provides mentorship and scholarships for the underserved youth in the Big Bend of North Florida. I have spoken with the vice president of the Tallahassee Chapter, and they will be allocating the Abiomed donation specifically to provide scholarships for the underserved community of Jefferson County, Fla., which is my hometown.”
Born and raised in Jefferson County, Brown graduated from Jefferson High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Florida A & M University in Tallahassee in 2001. He worked as a travel and cardiac nurse until January of 2016, when he joined the staff at Abiomed in Atlanta, where he lives with his wife Apryl.
Amy Raque, Abiomed's Zone East General Manager, says, “Deldrick’s work at Abiomed is not just a career, it is a calling. He embodies our Patients First culture through his passion and commitment to his patients, which greatly inspires his colleagues and customers.”
