The Monticello Community Prayer Breakfast will hold its May gathering from 7 to 8 a.m. on Thursday, May 5. It will be hosted by The Rotary Club at First Presbyterian Church, located at 290 E. Dogwood St. Robert Roddy is scheduled to speak.
Roddy is a deputy with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office (JCSO). He grew up in Alabama, served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 24 years and has worked in local law enforcement with both the Monticello Police Department and currently JCSO.
The Monticello Community Prayer Breakfast is not affiliated with any church. It is a spiritual idea that continues to survive the challenges of today's society because of its community support and individual participation.
