On June 13, a fatal shooting took place in a quiet Monticello neighborhood. Two months later, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) announced the arrest of the alleged shooter, Kendrick Reed, who is currently being held in the Jefferson County Jail.
According to the Arrest Affidavit, Reed was arrested on Aug. 10 for an outstanding Driving While License Suspended or Revoked warrant, which is a felony charge. It wasn't until Aug. 11, when Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Detective (Det.) Wren Johnson and FDLE Special Agent (S.A.) Kevin Sears interviewed Reed, that his connection to the June 13 murder investigation was more fully confirmed.
