It is estimated that around 6.9 million Americans are currently living with Alzheimer's Disease, and among these individuals, roughly 73 percent of them are 75 years old or older. Alzheimer's is the most common cause of dementia, the loss or decline of memory, language and cognitive function. While there is no cure for Alzheimer's, extensive research has enabled the development of some treatments, although there is still much to be learned about this impactful disease. Recent studies have shown a strong possible link between this degenerative disease and another common disease that affects millions of Americans every year: diabetes.
