Diana Charisse Miller Philemond, 60, of Palmetto, Fla., went home to be with the Lord on May 1, 2021. A garden memorial service in her honor will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at the Lewis family home located at, 170 Lanier Rd., Lamont.
Born on May 16, 1960, she was the daughter of Alma Marie Davis Lewis and the late Orngie Lee Miller. Although Diana was born in Lamont, a preponderance of her life was spent in Palmetto where she attended the public schools.
Knowing that there was more to life than just living, Diana gave her life to Christ at an early age. She was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Palmetto.
Diana worked for several restaurants and retired from Piccadilly’s. She loved crocheting, cooking and the color red. She was the best cook in the family. It was said that Diana could make a gourmet meal out of anything. Diana also loved pets, especially her two Jack Russell terriers, Mama and Shadow.
Those left to cherish her fond memories are, her mother: Alma Marie Lewis; her siblings: Dana T. Graham, Glenneth C. Miller, Maurice E. Miller, Corey Miller, Lewis B. Davis and Sherlene L. Lewis; her aunts: Ethel Ziggler and Emma (Paul) Morris; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Diana was preceded in death by her father: Orngie Miller, her brother: Spencer Lewis, and her step father: James D. Lewis. She will truly be missed, but never forgotten.
