Disaster Center is now open at library

A Disaster Recovery Center for Jefferson County officially reopened on Tuesday, Nov. 12, and specialists with FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) and SBA (Small Business Administration) are available to provide in-person assistance at the public library, located at 375 S. Water St.
You don't need an appointment to visit the center, just walk in any day, seven days a week, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. FEMA spokesperson Paul Corah encourages residents impacted by Hurricane Helene to stop by, whether to check on the status of an active application, get help finishing paperwork or to start an application.
