The disaster preparedness holiday is being held from Thursday, May 15, through Saturday, May 31, with a second holiday from Monday, June 2, through Sunday, June 15. Tax-free items include various disaster preparedness supplies.
Exempted items from the sales tax holiday include:
• Flashlights and lanterns that are $40 or less
• Radios $50 or less
• Reusable ice $20 or less
• Coolers and portable power banks $60 or less
• Tarps and ground anchors or tie down kits $100 or less
• Smoke detectors
• Carbon monoxide detectors $70 or less
• Batteries and fuel tanks $50 or less
• Generators $3,000 or less
• Household pet evacuation supplies
