It's that time of year when the networks and online streamers roll out their new shows for the fall season. There seems to always be that one show that grabs the headlines and everyone's attention. This year is no different. Disney affiliate, FX, has just released “Little Demon,” starring Danny Devito and Aubrey Plaza. The plot for this animated, dark and twisted tale is, not surprisingly, straight out of Hell.
The story begins with a witch, (Laura, voiced by Plaza), who has birthed a daughter to Satan 13 years ago and is now trying to live a normal life with her paranormal daughter, Chrissy, who just happens to be the Anti-Christ. Satan, however, is actively trying to regain custody of his daughter's soul.
Plaza has spoken positively about her character, saying, “I love that we are normalizing paganism. Laura is a pagan. She's a witch. She's jacked.”
The entire series seems to be pretty jacked, as Chrissy soon reduces a group of bullies to a pile of “red goo” according to one online review. There's enough gore in this storyline to keep you nauseous for days. Expect plenty of quotes that explore and applaud depravity, such as “Let's go boil some babies while their heads are still soft.”
This is just the tip of an evil iceberg that touts witchcraft as a good thing and is set as a cartoon, which will undoubtedly catch many parents asleep at the wheel, exposing their impressionable children to the occult. This is definitely a show not intended for children. There are plenty of demons, nudity, foul language and the list could go on for days. If you want your kids to grow up with a positive mindset, to understand good and evil, and to see God and the devil in the proper light of biblical understanding, steer clear of this one, and you might want to be careful about anything Disney produces to entertain your children. Their moral compass seems to have fallen into the abyss.
