Exciting happenings are just over the Florida-Georgia border. In Boston, Ga., of Thomas County, Emmy-winning writer and director Dario M. Harris is working to tell the story of the local Ham family, who he is a direct descendant of, through a documentary titled “Legacy of Land.”
James and Bessie Oliver Ham were Black residents of Boston during the time of prohibition and segregation. During this difficult time in history, the couple successfully amassed over 400 acres of land and were well-known for extending hospitality to all townspeople.
